Another day, another blog post. Day 4 of YJA and Jonny Ensall, from Time Out Magazine, leads a session talking about his career as a Music and Gig Journalist.
This Cambridge University graduate, kindly compressed a list conveying five key points of how to write as a Music Journalist– all of which I have listed below:
1. Find music-related vocabulary
2. There is no other substitute to knowing your music inside out. So make sure you take time out (no pun intended) to do your research!
3. Be clear in your writing- do not be abstract
4. Cover the basics. Not everyone will know the necessary information about the artist or song you are talking about- so make sure that you cover this in your article.
5. Think of how you can make your article more interesting
Keep an eye out for my next YJA blog post!
