I am an advocate for every business person having a website. It should be your digital shopfront where visitors can find out everything about your business. As well as having a website, having a portfolio is also essential. Now, of course, you can have a portfolio on your website, but you can also have a separate portfolio on a different site. This can help improve your SEO rankings too. This blog shares 3 freelance portfolio sites for freelancers.
1. Underpinned
Simply put, Underpinned is a platform for freelancers, with a virtual office, which includes a portfolio segment, a job board, and more resources helpful for freelancers.
What I love about Underpinned’s portfolio segment are the visually appealing options they have for creating a portfolio.
They also have a segment where they have freelancers of the month. This really makes you feel like you are part of a community. I have been featured on one of their showcases, here.
2. The Dots Freelance Portfolio Site
The Dots is like the creative version of LinkedIn. This is the best way to describe it, essentially.
On top of this, there are features where you can ask public questions to anyone in The Dots community. So people, who aren’t even connected with you, can see your question and answer it.
The Dots also have featured spotlights on their home page where your portfolio and projects that you post have a chance of being featured here, which increases your portfolios reach and chances of connecting with more creatives like yourself!
3. MuckRack Freelance Portfolio Site
I discovered muckrak in a rather unusual way. I googled my name and found a whole profile/ portfolio with clippings of my work that I had not created myself! There’s a team behind muckrack that search for professional journalists and collated their published pieces and create a portfolio based on this.
So they essentially do all the work for you, which can increase your chances of SEO rankings, without doing any work yourself! But you don’t have to wait for them to create a portfolio for you. You can create one yourself too.
There is something unique about each of these portfolio sites. So depending on what specifically you are looking for, one may be better for you to choose than the other. However, they are all good options for improving your SEO rankings as a freelancer.
4. Blog
Having your own website and blog is also another great way to showcase your work. There are several benefits to blogging and this is one of them. It also gives visitors of your website more scope to find out more about you through visiting other pages on your website.
