With all we are experiencing right now, everything can seem overwhelming. But, let’s remember we are in Lent season, approaching Easter. And Easter is the ultimate message of hope! Available to all who choose to accept. Let’s grab onto that. There’s no denying, we need it.
Here is a list of some encouraging easter quotes from the Bible to encourage us that God is bigger than all we are experiencing right now:
Luke 24:2-3
This scripture is the first discovery of Jesus’ tomb where he was buried after crucifixion being empty. The first discovery that Jesus Christ is risen! He is alive today, so we can always have hope because he has overcome and as will we because of what he has accomplished on the cross!
John 11:25-26
In this scripture, Jesus encourages us that we have eternal life if we place our hope in him and follow him.
Romans 8:34
In Christ, there is true freedom. Who can condemn us when those who believe in Jesus are counted righteous by God? NO-ONE! And Jesus is interceding for us on the right-hand side of the father, throughout our life journey. How encouraging is that??
2 Corinthians 5:17
In Christ, all things are made new. He washes our sins to make them white as snow (Isaiah 1:18). So no matter what type of past you have had, when you accept Christ, that remains in the past and you are a new creation. What a great message of hope this is!
Philippians 2:8
What other king leaves his throne and glory to die for a people who are nowhere close to even compared to his glory? This is the beauty of Jesus – our God, creator, who died for us so we can be free and have a relationship with him. Free from sin. Free to receive salvation. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5: 7-8).
John 20:27
The compassion of Christ is shown so even more clearly in this scripture. When hearing from the other disciples that they had seen the risen Christ, Thomas initially doubted and said he wouldn’t believe it until he saw the nail marks in Jesus’ hands and put his hands in his wounds (John 20:25). Jesus cared so much specifically for Thomas’ faith that he came to Thomas and delivered on this, as seen in the above scripture.
John 16:7
In this scripture, Jesus is speaking to his disciples, saying what will happen after he ascends back to The Father. It is an encouragement that he will still be leaving them with a gift. His Holy Spirit (The Advocate). This is encouragement for all believers today also, that The Holy Spirit is able to guide us in our daily lives and dwells in us. This again highlights how much God cares for us, that he sent us his Holy Spirit to help us.
