I’d heard about HelloFresh a few months ago but didn’t really see an incentive to buy until recently where my workload became a bit full-on. My main issue was finding a way to make filling lunch meals, that didn’t take too long to cook on the time I take out for lunch. As HelloFresh allows you to choose meals that take less than 30minutes to cook, I thought it would be worth giving a try to see how it worked out. Here is a HelloFresh review of my experience.
HelloFresh Flavour Review
I tried HelloFresh out for 2 weeks as I made a mistake thinking it was £30 a month, as oppose to £30 a week (for the package I chose).
I didn’t want to spend £30 a week consistently on this meal plan. But I may return to it every now and then.
The package I chose had three fixed meals that were equipped for 2 servings each, so 6 servings per week.
The recipes I chose for HelloFresh included beef burgers, potato wedges, pork stakes, shredded beef, pulled chicken, lamb lasagna, and more!
I really enjoyed each meal I had.
A variety of herbs and seasonings were provided and it gave me the opportunity to experiment with different ingredients I hadn’t used before when cooking. Like red wine with red meat.
Hellofresh have a variety of cultural meals, like the Thai shredded beef stirfry, with peanuts. This was super tasty and spicy!
HelloFresh Order Experience Review
With HelloFresh, you have to choose your meal a week in advance and they send you a reminder of when it is your last day to order.
If you don’t pick in time, they will automatically select meals for you.
The delivery service was prompt and fresh. Fresh cold ice packs were included in the delivery for ingredients like meat, and other refrigerated foods.
The Hellofresh app makes it a pleasant user experience when choosing your meals.
It shows you the ingredients for each meal and provides cooking instructions on the app. In addition to this, they also send you a printed recipe with instructions in your delivery box.
Ease To Make
HelloFresh details how much time each meal will take. This helps you estimate how long it will take to fit in your schedule.
It’s a great guide for beginner cooks in particular.
All in all, I would give my HelloFresh review an 8/10. I couldn’t justify the price for a weekly rolling subscription of £30 for 6 meals (for the package I chose). This is reflected in my rating. However, apart from this, I found the meals and ease of cooking great benefits of Hellofresh. For more recipe ideas, check out this post.
